All Mod Cons The Jam.
If you were around in the mid to late 1970's you could not get away from
"The Jam" and this album, "All Mod Cons", short for all modern conveniences and a pun on the bands mod
revival, this classic album contains one of The Jam's most successful singles "Down In The Tube Station At
Midnight", an anti violent protest song and was banned by the BBC as the lyrics describe a man being mugged in
a tube station, accompanied with the sound of an underground train and raspy guitars the song has great
lyrical content and reflects the danger of going on the London Underground late at night at that time. With
the fine sounding "English Rose" and a cover of The Kinks "David Watts" this a great album from beginning to
end.
Love The Beatles.
This album features tracks reworked by George and Giles Martin, and my copy includes all the songs on a
stereo CD and a 5.1 audio DVD for playing in a surround system so that you can hear The Beatles as you have
never heard them before or if you are like me and have never owned a Beatle album then this album will let you
discover them at their best, there is also booklet that tells the story of how this album came about and the
hard work that went in to the making of it. The album starts off very quietly with the song "Because" and is
cross faded in to the next track "Get Back" as are many of the songs so you really have to listen to it from
beginning to end, putting your CD player on random play spoils the effect of the Album as does playing just
one track as you get part of the previous track at the beginning and part of the next track at the end on some
of the songs, not all of the album is cross faded.
Send Away The Tigers The Manic Street Preachers.

One of the finest bands to emerge in the 1990's and still going strong today, Send Away The Tigers
is a fantastic album from begining to end and one that you can listen to over and over without getting bored, the
single 'Your Love Alone' features Nina from The Cardigans and is one of the best singles that The Manics have done
in my opinion, you really need this album in your collection if you don't have it already.
