My Home Town.

 Located in East Berkshire and lying between the M4 and M40 motorways with easy access to the M25, London, The South and The West, Slough is in a good commercial position. Slough used to be in the county of Buckinghamshire but the county line was moved in the early 1970's to include it in Berkshire. Origins go back to 1196 and seems to be a hamlet known as 'Slo' on a crossroads between Chalvey and Upton. King Henry III had a palace at Cippenham during the 13th century.

 Slough has one of the largest trading estates in the world, many famous brand names and manufacturers are based here and these include past and present, Mars, O2, Horlicks, ICI, Sarah Lee, Citroen, Johnson and Johnson to name but a few, even the famous puppet show Thunderbirds was made on Slough Trading Estate in the 1960's. The town center, currently undergoing a revamp, has two indoor shopping centers, The Queensmere and The Observatory. The Queensmere was built in the 1970's and was one of the first indoor shopping centers in the country. The Observatory was built in the 1980's, Macdonald's opened one of their first UK stores in the 1970's, in the High Street and this was featured in an advert for the store during the 1980's. Tesco's has one of the largest super stores located in William Street with under store parking and easy access to and from the High Street shops via a pedestrian bridge over the A4. The BBC comedy series ''The Office'' features Slough Town in the opening sequences and shows the roundabout and bus garage that have now been demolished to make way for a new look town center.  

A Little About Me.

 My name is Simon Borg and I am a divorced male with 3 grown up children, one girl and twin boys, I was born at The Canadian Red Cross Memorial Hospital in Taplow in the Shire of Buckingham in the 1960's and was bought up in Cippenham, Slough, Berks and currently live in Slough Berks. My Dad was born in Sliema, Malta, a small island in the warm Mediterranean to the south of Italy, and my Mum was born at Clewer, Windsor. I have two Sister's and four Nieces. I attended Cippenham Infants School, Cippenham Middle School and The Westgate School in Cippenham. I also have lots of family that live in Malta and Australia and although I have been to Malta many times I have yet to visit Australia, I hope to go there soon.

I love to travel and going on holiday is one of my favourite past times with Malta being my number one holiday destination mainly because my Dad came from Sliema and I have lots of family that I like to visit regularly, I have also been to Italy, Tunisia, Tenerife, USA, Sicily, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and have been all over the UK thanks to my profession as an HGV driver.
