Dean's Diner

On New Year’s Day in the afternoon I went up to my local town center to have a peak at the bargains and as I was feeling the worse for wear after a fantastic new years eve party the night before, I decided to go to Deans Diner as a change from MacDonald’s and KFC. Deans Diner is an American styled diner and has just opened up in my town replacing the Virgin Mega Store that had closed in early 2010.
It was about 3pm and I had not eaten anything that day so I decided to have Deans all day brunch and hoped that it would sort me out for the rest of the day. The shop looked inviting as it is styled like a 1950’s style American Diner with pictures of Dean Martin on the walls.
On the menu it was described as having a sausage, a 5oz burger, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon and a toasted bun, I also ordered a mint flavor milk shake and knew that all this would come to 12 quid.
When it arrived I was very disappointed at what I saw as the mushroom was one of those flat button mushroom’s that was placed on a slice of tomato on the top part of the small open bun, on the bottom of the bun was the burger topped with the egg and the long but skinny Frankfurt sausage on the plate next to it, with two small slices of streaky bacon, well I thought there was not enough here to feed a sparrow and it certainly was not an American sized portion that I would have expected, and, the milk shake was not made from more than half a pint of milk.
It all tasted nice and the service was good but I got a cold draught every time the door was opened I went away after paying my bill £12.00 gbp, this would have been about 23 dollars if I was in the USA, I went away feeling hungry still and wishing that I had gone to Macdonald’s instead, it would have been less than half the cost and more filling.
I told the waiter that I expected a lot more for my money and still felt hungry and that I would not be coming back again and all he said was that he would pass my comments on.
If you have not been to Dean’s Diner and are contemplating a visit then I would certainly not recommend that you try it as you are going be a much dissatisfied customer like I am.

A Quick Update.

I went up the town yesterday, 15 Jan 2012 and noticed that Dean's Diner was closed and a notice on the door said 'Closed Untill Further Notice', this hardly suprised me from the experience that I had when I went for something to eat here just over a year ago.
