Amazon Kindle
The Popular Electronic Book Reader

At first glance the Amazon Kindle does not look much in the way of the latest electronic gadgetry after all it is supposed to resemble a book and take your mind off the fact that you are reading a book that you have bought and downloaded in electronic form and this it does quite well, it is packaged neatly in plain looking fully recyclable card board that is certified frustration free packaging, it was very easy to open and once open there was a small user guide that was prominent and gave you an illustration of the Kindle and all the buttons that are on it and prompted you to charge the Kindle using the supplied USB cable that plugs directly in to your PC, there is an optional power adapter available. Once charged and switched on you are able to access the comprehensive user guide from the home screen, after all the Kindle is a book reader and you should be able to read the manual on the device itself, it also comes pre loaded with The Oxford English Dictionary and The Oxford American Dictionary as well as dictionaries in five European languages that include Spanish, French, Italian, German and Portuguese. You are prompted to connect the Kindle to your Amazon account if you have one or create one if don't so that you can browse Kindle Books, if you have a Wi-Fi connection at home you can also connect the Kindle to your home network for browsing the book library.

Primarily I bought my Kindle in order to read PDF's that I already own away from my PC and I was able to load these on to the Kindle quite easily but became frustrated that the PDF documents were too small to read, but a quick call to Kindle support and they were able to tell me how to convert PDF documents to Kindle documents so that I could read them with ease.  It is very easy to operate, It has 'easy to remember what they do' key pads that will allow you to navigate around your Kindle, they allow to browse your book library, shop in the Kindle Store, change the font size, type face, line spacing and words per line, search the current document and bookmark your page. The next and previous page controls are placed on the side of the Kindle and I kept accidently pressing these when picking the Kindle up, and the page that I was reading would turnover, but I soon got into the habit of grabbing it in the corner rather than the edge so as not to do this. The Kindle is a great way to carry your book library with you as the 2gb of memory is able to store up to 1400 books so you will always have a good selection to hand, this is really useful if you are going on holiday, do a lot of traveling or commute daily, no bulky books to carry around with you, the Kindle is very light, only six inches tall and is as thin as a pencil and will fit easily in to your pocket or bag, a full battery charge will last a month so you will always have your books to hand.
